Q : The size of your painting is rather unusual. How come ?

A : When I paint, I need space. I believe I have reached a good compromise between a size I am happy with and the amount of time I need to make a painting! I sometimes use smaller formats, when painting portraits for instance. I want to compare my work with a cinematographic experience: although I take great pleasure in watching a movie in a regular cinema, it’s never the same feelings as those I experience when going to an IMAX™.

Q : What kind of paint do you use ?

R : I only use acrylic. It has immediately met my expectations and, since I have not tried the other types of paint, I don’t know those that much. Acrylic is multi-purpose; therefore, it is easy to use and offer great freedom.

Q : Your large paintings are not framed. How can I hang them ?

R : You will find, on the back of the painting, a large Velcro™ strip whose opposite part should be fixed to the wall on which you intend to hang the painting. You will find explanations in the “installation” section.

Q : What are, concretely, the main steps ?

R : I have designed a mural support slightly larger than the final size of the painting. I stretch a 100% cotton canvas on it, maintained by clips. I then cover both sides of the canvas with white primer. It is now stiff enough – but not too much so that it can still be rolled. When I am done painting, I put a layer of varnish to protect the paint. Lastly, I cut the canvas to the final dimensions and I fix the Velcro™ strip on the back of it. My paintings are stored vertically on a rack I have built myself.

Q : What should I do if I’m interested in one of your paintings?

R : First of all, you can send me an email so that we can talk about it. Then, I’m thinking of selling my paintings through eBay™, the auction website, because it offers a secured space for sellers and buyers. Q : How will the painting be delivered to me ?

R : It will be sent to you in a cardboard tube, big enough and delivered by a reliable international carrier that we will choose together. This will guarantee a safe and high-quality delivery.
